Send a message: Campaign
The bodies of two Israeli soldiers abducted by Hezbollah in July 2006 were returned to Israel. Karnit Goldwasser, a wife of one of the slain soldiers, has expressed a passion to fight against injustice.
I will as, Karnit said, "wake up again tomorrow with the same mission, but with more energy". I channel my energy into developing a friendship with a member of congress. Israel needs friends in the U.S. Congress to survive.
My strategy for developing a friend in Congress is to volunteer in a campaign. Currently, I am volunteering in the Linda Stender for Congress campaign (NJ-7). By regularly showing up at Linda Stender's campaign office, I am sending a message. I am demonstrating to Linda that some of her most enthusiastic energetic supporters come from the pro-Israel community.
Linda Stender supports a strong U.S.-Israel relationship. Linda has traveled to Israel. Linda supports Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state, Israel's right to self-defense, continuing U.S. foreign aid to Israel, and economic sanctions against Iran to prevent them from developing a nuclear weapon.
From Linda's position paper on Israel: "Israel was created with the same democratic values and institutions as the United States. It is a thriving democracy in a region burdened with monarchies and dictatorships. It has a free press, an independent judiciary, and protects the rights of religious and political minorities. These values are American values, and must be protected."
Volunteers at Linda Stender's campaign office will have the opportunity to meet Linda and speak with her about Israel. I urge your readers to join me. Protect Israel by volunteering in the Stender for Congress campaign office.
Campaign office: 256 South Ave., Fanwood, NJ 07023. Phone: (908) 322-4547. For more information readers may contact me at Jeff@norpac.net.

Thank you
On behalf of congregation Beth El in Edison, thank you for your write-up regarding the renovations in our synagogue. We are small, friendly, and our attendance at services is large for a congregation our size. We have many social programs and consider ourselves one large family. I have spent 19 years as rabbi of the congregation and would like the community to know that we are very warm and our congregants are dedicated to our survival. I hope non-affiliates will visit us. Services Friday night at 7:30, Saturday morning 9:30. Web site: www.betheledison.org.
If you are looking for a dynamic Hebrew school, Hebrew high school, Kadima, USY, men's club, sisterhood, our congregation, which is affiliated with United Synagogue, is perfect for you. Our dues structure is the most reasonable in the area. We have special rates for young marrieds, singles, and seniors.
For additional information call the synagogue and ask for Rabbi Rosenberg.
