If the cap and trade bill is passed in Congress, your utility bill could double in cost. China and India will continue to pollute the air, and what the U.S. is doing at enormous expense will be of no avail, failing to make a serious dent in greenhouse gases without the inclusion of the aforementioned developing countries. How high or low your heat or air conditioning is will be controlled by the federal government. When you sell your house, new rules will have to be met, as per instructions of the bill.

Insofar as health care is concerned, under the proposed health care reform, many would lose their current health insurance as employers would move their employees over to the government's public option at a cheaper price. If you receive health care coverage from your employer, it will be taxed. If you are 65, younger illegal immigrants will be favored over American senior citizens, which could imperil such things as stents for the heart and knee replacements. After the waiting period for care, it will be too late for treatment for many diseases, like cancer. As for surgery, people in England and Canada die waiting. Seniors will likely be given pills, not surgery.

And how do we pay for this? Higher taxes.

Call or email your representative in the House and Senate. Advise them if they vote for the cap and trade bill and health care bill, you'll vote them out.

The way to bring the costs of health down is tort reform. The American people have to fight for this.
