COLODIN. Mrs. Lucille Colodin died Aug. 17, 2009, at the Willows Assisted Living in Holmdel. She was 88.

Born in Asbury Park, Mrs. Colodin lived in the shore area all her life. She was a teacher in the Ocean Township and Neptune school systems. She was a Sunday school teacher at Temple Beth El in Oakhurst, where she was a member. Her husband, Edwin, died in May of 2009; she is also predeceased by her brother, Dr. Ira Vineburg.

Mrs. Colodin is survived by her daughter, Debra of Eatontown; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Rita of Aberdeen; brother, Donald Vineburg of Green Bay, Wis.; grandchildren, Sharon and Jim Jones of Brick, and Aaron and Jeffrey Colodin of Aberdeen; great-grandson, Connor R. Jones; sister-in-law, Charlotte Vineburg, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Louis and Rhoda Kolodin; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean. ELICE. Mr. Samuel Elice died Aug. 14, 2009. He was 85.

Born in Brooklyn, Mr. Elice was the son of the late Albert and Anna Elice. He was a decorated captain in the Army Air Corps during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart while serving in Europe. He received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in electrical engineering and earned two master’s degrees from Newark College of Engineering and Rutgers University. He worked for AT&T at Bell Laboratories in Holmdel and in New York City and retired after a 35-year career. He was a 40-year member of Congregation B’nai Israel, Rumson. He was predeceased by his wife, Diane P. Elice.

Mr. Elice is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Mark and Cheryl of Morganville, and Dr. Craig and Dr. Shari of Rehoboth, Mass.; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Phillip Gordon of Phoenix; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Rosaline; and grandchildren, Rachel, Daniel, and Sarah Elice, Jared, Dora, and Jack Elice, and Alec and Dana Gordon. Interment at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean. Memorial donations may be made to the Simon Weisenthal Center for Holocaust Studies.

GARDINER. Mrs. Trudi Gardiner died Aug. 19, 2009, at home. She was 90.

Born in Hempstead, N.Y., Trudi married the love of her life, Alan, and they were married for 60 years. They lived in Linden, where they created a warm home to raise their four children. She will always be remembered for her eternal optimism, wonderful spirit and wisdom, and always-present sense of humor. She will be dearly missed by all of those who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband, Alan. Trudi’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Marina Didize for her compassion and caring and to Trudi’s best friend of 50 years, Norma Kimmelman, for her devoted friendship.

Mrs. Gardiner is survived by her daughter, Hope; sons and daughters-in-law, Harlan and Donna, Mitchell and Debbie, and Eric and Marsi; grandchildren, Nicole, Ryan, Ari, Jordan, Ian, and Emily; and many nieces and nephews, whom she considered as her children. Interment at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Arrangements by The Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Edison.

GLASER. Mrs. Sylvia Fishkin Glaser died Aug. 20, 2009, at St. Peter’s Hospital community hospice, Albany. She was 90.

Born and raised in Perth Amboy, Mrs. Glaser lived in Edison and Long Branch before moving to Albany five years ago. She was a former member of Congregation Shaarey Tefiloh, Perth Amboy and past president of the Sisterhood; member of Hadassah and very active with the Central Jersey Jewish Home for the Aged. Her husband, Jacob, died in 2004; and her son, Allen, died in 1980.

Mrs. Glaser is survived by her son, Stanley, of Miami; daughter, Marlene Kimball of Delmar, N.Y.; brother, Seymour Fishkin of Pompano Beach, Fla.; and grandsons, Eric K. and Allen K. GOLDBERG. Mrs. Louise Ann (née Harrison) Goldberg died Aug. 17, 2009, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 66.

A lifelong resident of New Jersey, Louise was an active, gorgeous, vibrant woman who was very much loved by her family and friends. A graduate of F.I.T. in New York City, she worked in the fashion district before raising her children. During her lifetime, she was an active member of National Council of Jewish Women and was a successful realtor with Weichert Realtors. Over the years, she and her husband, Arthur, traveled the world and enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchild.

Louise is survived by her husband of 42 years, Arthur; son, Gregg; daughter, Jill; grandson, Maxwell; mother, Edith Harrison of Fort Lee; sister, Jean Harrison of N.Y.C.; and first cousin, Ina Grossman of Morris Plains. Arrangements by Jewish Memorial Chapel, Clifton. Memorial donations be made to ovarian cancer research funds.

KUGEL. Mrs. Blanche Kugel died Aug. 20, 2009, at home. She was 87.

Born in Jersey City and raised in Newark, Mrs. Kugel later lived in Union before moving to Marlboro 24 years ago. She was employed by the City of Newark Board of Education for many years. She was a member of the Greenbriar at Marlboro Chapter of Deborah. Her husband of 51 years, Harold, died in 1994.

Mrs. Kugel is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Wayne Grossman of Manchester, and Barbara and Joseph Epstein of East Windsor; son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Renee of East Windsor; brother, Irving Scale of Toms River; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Interment at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin. Arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Manalapan. Memorial donations may be made to Deborah Hospital.

PARKER. Mrs. May E. Parker died Aug. 17, 2009, in Greenwood House, Ewing. She was 91.

Born in Trenton, May was a resident of the area all of her life. Throughout the years, she was active in making the Trenton community a better place. This included her work as a member for many years at Adath Israel Congregation, Lawrenceville, where she served on the Sisterhood, board of trustees, and was a member of the Capital Fund. She was a life member of Hadassah, Labbok Kosher Meals on Wheels, and Women for Greenwood House, where she was honored as “Woman of the Year” in 2002. May was an accomplished concert pianist, performing for community events on many occasions. She was predeceased by her husband, Morton M. Parker.

Mrs. Parker is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Elyse of Ewing; daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie and David Gross of Jerusalem, and Charlene “Tzillah” and Zvi Schwartz of Ofra, Israel; sister, Gertrude Herman of Atlanta; sister-in-law, Alice Pitasky of Margate, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. PEREL. Mrs. Dora Perel died Aug. 24, 2009, at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was 75.

Born in Minsk, Russia, Mrs. Perel, a Holocaust survivor, lived in North Woodmere, N.Y., and Brooklyn before moving to Monroe five years ago. She belonged to Hadassash, B’nai B’rith, and the Regency development bowling and shuffleboard teams, all in Monroe.

Mrs. Perel is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jack; daughter, Amy, of Morganville, sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Della of Melville, N.Y., and Elliott and Lynda of East Brunswick; brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Miriam Sinitzky of Rockville Center, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren. Interment at Old Montefiore Cemetery, St. Albans, N.Y. Arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick.

RUBOVITZ. Mr. Robert I. Rubovitz died Aug. 20, 2009.

Born in Newark, Mr. Rubovitz lived in Irvington with his parents and late sister, Miriam. He married Eleanor Gelbond Rubovitz, his high school sweetheart, on July 21, 1940; they lived in Irvington, moved to Hillside in 1950, and then to Sprinfield in 1968. Eleanor died on June 16, 1975. He married Harriet Stempler on Nov. 21, 1976; they moved to Cranbury in 1980, and lived in Boynton Beach, Fla., from 1988 to 2005, then moved to Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains. Mr. Rubovitz worked for Newark Pattern Works until 1952, then founded Rubovitz Pattern Works in Union, retiring in 1980.

Mr. Rubovitz is survived by his daughter, Carol R. Aronoff; son and daughter-in-law, Edward B. and Ruth; stepchildren, Joanne and Peter Andersen, and Ilene and Norman Kalish; grandchildren, Amanda Aronoff and her husband, James Keller, Jason Rubovitz and his wife, Adrienne, Jessica Aronoff and her husband, Larry Sher, Lewis Rubovitz and his wife, Debbie Mazer, and David Rubovitz and his fiancée, Nora Marcus; and great-grandchildren, Hayden, Lauren, Mackenzie, Celeste, Max, Andrew, Addison and Nathaniel. SCHULTZ. Mr. Charles A. Schultz died Aug. 22, 2009, at the Masonic Home, Burlington. He was 88.

Born in Lansing, Mich., Mr. Schultz lived in Elizabeth, Clark, Manalapan, and Whiting before moving to Burlington earlier this year. He served in the Army during World War II. He also was a member of the Union Chapter of the Knights of Pythias and of the Ocean County Library Book Group of Manchester. He owned and operated Schultz Steam Service, Clark, for more than 50 years before retiring in 1990. He received his associate’s degree from Union Junior College, Union.

Mr. Schultz is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly (Cohen); loving children, Barbara Schultz, Aliza Phillips and Philip Schultz; dear brother, Meyer Schultz; nine cherished grandchildren; and 37 adored great-grandchildren. Interment at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. SCHWARTZ. Mrs. Pauline Reit Schwartz died Aug. 18, 2009, with her family at her side at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was 99.

Born in Bayonne, Pauline lived in Somerville and New Brunswick before moving to Highland Park in 1940. She had worked for Weissman Furniture, New Brunswick as a bookkeeper for 28 years. She also worked for HK Tires, Somerset, for more than 43 years, retiring in 2001. In her past time, she was a member of the Deborah Heart and Lung Foundation and an active member with the Highland Park Conservative Temple and Congregation Anshe Emeth Sisterhood. Her husband, Sidney, died in 1973.

Pauline is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Helene and her Eugene Weiss of Allentown, Pa., and Judith Schwartz of Sun City Center, Fla.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Interment at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick. SRAGER. Mrs. Anna M.Srager died Aug. 10, 2009, at Morristown Memorial Hospital. She was 80.

Born in Trenton, Mrs. Srager lived in Plainfield and South Plainfield before moving to North Plainfield many years ago. Anna loved her family, children, and always had positive comments and outlook for others at all times. Her civility and humanity are a lasting legacy for her family and friends.

Mrs. Srager is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joel; daughters and sons-in-law, Sara and Bob Senz, and Sherri Srager Morris and Dan Morris; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Lori, and Mark and Tara; grandchildren, Melissa, Bob, Andrew, Laryn, Rachael, Cassandra, William and Caitlin; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Claire; siblings, Mary DiCavalcante, T. Rita Crowley, Jerome Baron, Virginia Nicholas, H. Patricia Lyons, and Beverly Mamola; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Interment at Hebrew Cemetery Samptown, South Plainfield. WAJSBROT. Mr. Paul Wajsbrot died Aug. 21, 2009, at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, Philadelphia. He was 70.

Born in Metz, France, Mr. Wajsbrot lived in Monroe for several years. Before retiring in 2003, he was a supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service, Manhattan, where he worked for 32 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Wajsbrot is survived by his wife, Rosalyn (Sokoloff); daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Morris Lener of Marlboro; brother, Joseph, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and grandchildren, Bryce and Drew Lener.
