Seeking identity of Zionist Library of Newark Recently, in a donation of books, our library received a coup of "The Holy Bible," translated into Yiddish by Ch. Neuhauser, A. Hyman Chorlap, and others, copyright 1912 by the Hebrew Publishing Co. of New York. There is a blue circular stamp that says "Zionist Library of Newark, N.J." We have tried through various resources to identify this Zionist Library, but to no avail. Perhaps someone could identify the organization at which time we will send it to the YIVO Library in New York. Thank you for your help.

Why was there no community service? The teenager who beat up the Yeshiva student in Edison was not given community service. His sentence included a $600 fine, a 500-word essay on anti-Semitism, and one year of probation. In my opinion, this so-called punishment was ridiculous and a message to other hoodlums to commit acts of violence. Why was he not given community service? Community service adds a punitive measure to probation. It restricts the offenders' personal liberty and requires them to forfeit their leisure time. Community service is not given to an individual with a history of assault or serious emotional or psychological problems. Was this the case in this teenager? If so he should be serving jail time in juvenile detention. Some who do not like the fact that I am often outspoken, compare me to Rev. Al Sharpton. I have debated him on T.V. If this had happened to a person of color, I can guarantee you that that Rev. Al and his organization would be protesting. A bias crime against anyone must not be tolerated and a light sentence is at best a joke. Why are we silent? How many Jewish teenagers have to be beaten up before we protest? How many more swastikas should we tolerate in Middlesex County? Why has no one been caught? These are questions that must be addressed.
