Mr. Barbash lived in Brooklyn before moving to Monroe 29 years ago. Before retiring in 1979, he was a police officer for the New York City Police Department, 84th Precinct, Brooklyn, where he worked for 30 years. He was a member of the Shomrim Society. He served in the Army in World War II and belonged to the Clearbrook chapter of the Jewish War Veterans in Monroe. He also belonged to the Jewish Congregation of Clearbrook and the Clearbrook chapter of Deborah, both of Monroe. He was predeceased by a sister, Bernice Steinmuller, in 2006. Mr. Barbash is survived by his wife of 62 years, Harriet Wiener Barbash; son, Paul of Princeton; daughter, Arlene of Brooklyn; brother, Abraham and his wife, Gertrude, of Monroe; grandchildren, Leah Rose and Dana Michelle; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Marilyn Osher Brody died Jan. 27, 2008, in the assisted living complex at the Pavilion at Forrestal, Plainsboro. She was 72. Before retiring in 1987, she was a registered nurse for Somerset Medical Center, where she worked for 20 years. Mrs. Leah Rogoff Flynn died Jan. 17, 2008, at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. She was 86. Born in Newark, Mrs. Flynn lived in Bridgewater since 1955. She worked for AT&T in Basking Ridge as a clerical worker in their benefits and planning department for 10 years until retiring in 1986. A World War II veteran, she was a member of the Elin-Unger Jewish War Veterans in Newark and was the first woman adjutant in the American Legion in Newark. In later years, Leah was a volunteer at the Office of Aging in Raritan. She gave time at the Veterans Office and arts and crafts at that location. Leah also volunteered at the Somerset County Library, at the Bridgewater branch, and was a member of the American Legion Steven DAllessio Post 12 in Somerville. She was also a member of Temple Shalom in Bridgewater. Mrs. Flynn is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Patrick T., and her nephews and niece, David, Marc and Meredith Rogoff. Kamp, a resident of Highland Park for the past 41 years, died Feb. 2, 2008, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick after a short illness. He was 77. Mr. Kamp was a lifelong resident of central New Jersey and a pillar of its civic life. He was born and raised in New Brunswick, the son of Philip and Alice Kamp. After graduating from New Brunswick High School, he attended and graduated from Rider College. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He spent his adult life as a car salesman, most prominently as the sales manager of DeAngelis Buick in the heart of downtown New Brunswick, at the intersection of French Street and Jersey Avenue. He also worked as a salesman at Tarzy Buick, McGloin Buick, and Malouf Buick, until retiring in the late 1990s. He was a member of two synagogues, Poile Zedek in New Brunswick and the Highland Park Conservative Temple in Highland Park. He was also a selfless and generous participant in the local Jewish community's Bikur Cholim volunteer outreach program, visiting and cheering patients at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. He was predeceased by two sisters, Harriet LaDuca and Regina McDermott. Mr. Kamp is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, the former Lola Fuchs -- March 16 would have been their 50th anniversary; children, Alice Goshorn of Shoreline, Wash., Ted Kamp of Van Nuys, Calif., and David Kamp of New York City; six grandchildren; and sister, Frances Bilodeau of Forest Hills, N.Y. Mr. Martin Levin of South Orange died Feb. 2, 2008, at home in Palm Beach, Fla., surrounded by his family. He was 89. Born in Newark in 1918, Mr. Levin lived in South Orange and Palm Beach. He was the most prominent real estate developer in the Livingston area in the 1950s and 1960s. As a philanthropist, he shared his business success with the Jewish community and the community at large. He exemplified the best of philanthropy. Locally, he provided generous support to the MetroWest JCC, which he also served as president. Martin was a major benefactor of the Jewish Federation. The Joint Distribution Committee was one of his most cherished causes that helped the Jews in need in Israel and worldwide. While president of the MetroWest Jewish Community Foundation, he helped transform annual gifts to planned gifts and endowments and was a trustee of St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. He and his wife, Vivian, endowed the Martin & Vivian Levin Center for the Normal & Psychopathological Development of the Child & Adolescent at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He graduated from the Wharton School of Business and the University of Pennsylvania and was a major in the U.S. Army. He was an avid bridge player and weaver. A graduate of Rider University with a B.A. degree in business, he operated Standard Confectionary Co., a family company founded in 1911, for more than 50 years. When the company was sold, he retired that same year. During World War II he served with the U.S. Army. He had been a member of the Highland Park Lions Club and a member of Highland Park Conservative Temple & Center/Congregation Anshe Emeth. He enjoyed spending his free time designing and building boats and fishing. His wife, Rita (Katz), died in 2001. A private individual, Mr. Perlman had been a member of East Brunswick Jewish Center for many years. He had been employed as an electrician by Electrical Local for over 40 years, until retiring in 1992. He served in the Military during the Korean War. He was predeceased by his wife, Linda in 1992. She was 81. Marjorie was born in New Brunswick and graduated from New Brunswick High School and Ohio State University. After graduating from college, she was the head nursery school teacher at Little Folks Nursing School in Highland Park where she worked until she was married. She was active in many charities and civic organizations. She studied art and ethics at the Aesthetic Realism Foundation in New York City, founded by poet and critic Eli Siegel. She was a member of Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple in New Brunswick and served as chairwoman of the Judaic Shop and was active in various committees at the temple. She enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, was an excellent homemaker and cook, and enjoyed having friends and family over at her home to celebrate all the holidays and was sure to invite anyone who did not have a place to go. Marjorie will be remembered for her laughter and sense of humor by everyone who knew her. She was predeceased by her brothers, Sidney and Robert. Born in Elizabeth, Mrs. Reisen lived there for 28 years, in Union for 10 years, and Maplewood for the past 60 years. She graduated from Douglass College in 1933, where she received her bachelor's degree. She was a member of the National Board and the National Speakers Bureau of the Women's Division of United Jewish Appeal. She was a longtime board member of the New Jersey YM-YWHA Camps and she was also active in many other organizations in the Jewish community. She and her husband, Morris, hosted annual chamber music concerts in their home for the New Jersey Committee for a Sane Nuclear Policy. Her beloved husband, Morris, died in 1995.
