Greatest accomplishment: "Being invested as a cantor in 2006. I knew I wanted to be a cantor from the time I was 14 years old when my temple in Wantagh hired a woman cantor. Before her, I didn't know a woman could be a cantor. She took me under her wing and inspired me to want to become a cantor." Bad Habit: "Watching too much TV." Favorite TV: "Three programs: 'True Blood,' 'Project Runway.' and 'Top Chef'." Favorite food: Pizza. Best childhood memory: "Being in the children's chorus of 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat' during 1992-1993 when I was in middle school and the show was on Broadway. When I was in middle school, we had a choreographer who staged our school's production of 'Grease' where I had the part of Rizzo. He learned of the casting call for a children's choir for 'Joseph'. He brought 25 students together to form the chorus and our group was one of four choruses chosen, with a total of approximately 100 students. My choir got to perform at the opening night performance where we met Andrew Lloyd Weber, who wrote the music for the production. We met the other actors and the kids in the other choirs. It was a fantastic experience that I will remember the rest of my life." People don't know that I... "Am addicted to two different series about vampires: the 'Twilight' and the 'Sookie Stackhouse' books." The last book I read: " 'Her Fearful Symmetry,' by Audrey Niffenegger about a set of twins who learn about their aunt who is their mother's estranged twin sister when they inherit their aunt's London apartment." The biggest asset in the local Jewish community: "The Compassionate Feeling Hearts of Temple Shalom. It's a volunteer led, non-profit, non-denominational outreach program created by Temple Shalom of Aberdeen. Their goal is to advise and support those members of the community who have been affected by the adverse economic conditions. Professionals in different fields are volunteering their time providing free and confidential services started last year." The biggest problem in the local Jewish community: "People aren't affiliated with their local synagogue or don't have a relation with their with their synagogue and it tends to make people disconnected from their Judaism. If people were involved with their synagogue, they'd realize there is so much the synagogue has to offer." If I had move time I would... "Travel the world."
