AKMAN. Eitan Akman of Highland Park graduated from Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School, South River, on June 4, 2007. Future plans include attending Bar Ilan, Israel. Eitan is the son of Aaron and Shosky Akman.
ADLERMAN. Joshua Alderman of Metuchen graduated from I.L. Peretz Community Jewish School, a secular Sunday school in Somerset, on May 20, 2007. As part of his graduation requirements, Joshua researched and conducted an oral presentation titled "Two Jewish Comedians and How They Have Affected Comedy." Concurrent to his graduation project, Joshua was on stage as the title role in the musical "Oliver!" at his middle school; he was a member of gym club, and plays French horn in band. Joshua holds a Black Belt in Tae Kwan Do. Future plans include participation in the Peretz teen group. Parents are Danny and Kim Adlerman. Grandparents are Mel and Gloria Adlerman of Monroe, and Bill Hauck of Wheatfield, N.Y.
ALKOBI. Becky Alkobi of Staten Island, N.Y., graduated from Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School, South River, on June 4, 2007. Becky won awards for excellence in Hebrew language and Rodef Shalom. She plans a career in interior design. Parents are Ruth and Yehuda Alkobi, Staten Island. Grandparents are Eli and Levana Alkobi, Israel.
ALTERS. Elyssa Michelle Alters graduated from JP Stevens High School, Edison. She was very involved in school activities including, National Honor Society, International Thespian Society, Spanish Honor Society, Theatre Company, Future Teachers of America, and Student Council. Community activities include Buddy Ball and City of Hope local chapter committee member. Elyssa was the recipient of the Barbara Barnes Award. She is a member of the JCC of Middlesex County, and will be attending NYU, the Steinhardt School of Education, in the fall. Parents are Amy and Scott Alters. ALTERS. Heather Allison Alters graduated from Drew University. She was very involved on campus with activities including Hillel (president for three years), acting as a campus tour guide and ambassador for prospective students, Drew University Dramatic Society, and Psi-Chi (Psycology Honor Society). Heather graduated summa cum laude and with an interest in social action. She will be attending the University of Pennsylvania: School of Social Policy and Practice in the fall. ARGEN. Shirley and Sheldon Reich of Monroe are happy to announce the graduation of their oldest grandchild, Kimberly Dawn, from The Cooper Union, Manhattan, with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemical engineering. She will continue her education with a fellowship at the University of Texas, San Antonio. Kimberly is the daughter of Lenore and Bob Argen, of Cranford, and is the sister of Robert David. She has participated in culture fests and loves crafts and cooking.
AUMAN. Shimmy Auman of Highland Park graduated from Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva, Edison, on June 18, 2007. He is a first degree Black Belt (Family Martial Arts Academy), a member of the hockey team, the math club, and is on the Principal's List. Shimmy will attend high school at the Torah Academy of Bergen County. Parents are Naomi and Neal Auman of Highland Park. BANNETT. Ilana "Lani" Bannett of Highland Park graduated from Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School, South River, on June 4, 2007. She received the Moshe Aaron Distinguished Scholar Award. Ilana will study at Midreshet Lindenbaum, Jerusalem, Israel. Parents are Ezra and Rena Bennett of Highland Park. BERNSTEIN. Elana J. Bernstein, daughter of Alfred and Janice Bernstein, Edison, received her MD from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, N.Y. Dr. Bernstein, who graduated summa cum laude from Amherst College in 2003, was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She will be doing her residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.

BLAIN. Ezra Blain of Cherry Hill graduated from Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School, South River, on June 4, 2007. Ezra was class Salutatorian. She received awards for outstanding achievement and diligence, and was a member of the National Honor Society, Principal Honor Roll, volleyball and softball teams, and drama club. Elliot was a member of the National Honor Society, the Principal Circle, mock trial team, hockey team, soccer team, and was Student-Government Organization President. BUCHBINDER. Nathan Buchbinder of Marlboro graduated from Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Monmouth County. He placed with distinction in mathematics and reading as a seventh grader from Johns Hopkins University Youth Talent Search and was a finalist in the CBA math contest. He won the title of "outstanding" from the Music Educators Assoc. of New Jersey Annual Auditions Award for Piano in 2006. Nathan was the student council president and won an award for excellence in Judaic performance. He was a member of the Flames basketball team, and won the National Physical Fitness Award. He won the state award for being among the highest scoring N.J. participants and certified with distinction in mathematics as a seventh grader from Johns Hopkins University Youth Talent Search. Sydney is a member of Study of Exceptional Talent from Johns Hopkins, and placed third two years in a row at the CBA math contest. He is a school math challenge winner, and won an award for excellence in Judaic performance. He was a member of the Flames basketball team, and won the National Physical Fitness Award. DARNOV. Adar Darnov of Marlboro graduated from Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Monmouth County. Adar was a member of the Flames basketball team and won the National Physical Fitness Award. DOBIN. Rivki Dobin of Highland Park graduated from Bruriah High School, Elizabeth, on June 17, 2007. Rivki, a member of the National Honor Society, served as choir head, played on the basketball team, and was the editor of "The Giving Tree," the school's chesed newspaper. She will spend next year at Darchei Binah Seminary For Girls, Jerusalem, after which she plans to attend Stern College, N.Y. Parents are Miriam and Jay Dobin of Highland Park. DWECK. Jessica F. Dweck, daughter of Ellen and Albert Dweck of East Brunswick, granddaughter of the late Alice and Alvin Florman of Staten Island, N.Y., and the late Rose Toussie Dweck of Brooklyn and Maurice Dweck of Miami, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania on May 14, 2007 summa cum laude with a B.S. in Biochemistry and Chemistry. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and was a designated Dean's Scholar. She also received the Biochemistry's Dept. Chair Award as well as the Chemistry Award from the American Chemical Society. She will be attending the California Institute of Technology (Cal Tech) to pursue a Ph.D in Chemistry.
ERDFARB. Adina Erdfarb, daughter of Milton and Deborah Erdfarb, graduated from Bruriah High School, Elizabeth, on June 17, 2007. Adina was valedictorian of her graduating class and a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship program. She has been a choreographer and dancer in the Mother-Daugther dance performances at Bruriah, member of the softball team, Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholar, winner of the Jola Hoffman Holocaust Essay Contest, and winner of the National Center for the Book contest for an essay she wrote about her grandfather, Rabbi Hershel Matt. Adina likes to dance, read, and write. Her future plans include a year of study at Michelet Mevaseret Yerushalayim, Jerusalem, and then attendance at Stern College of Yeshiva University, N.Y. She is the granddaughter of Gustine and the late Rabbi Hershel Matt of Highland Park, and Marianne and the late Jack Erdfarb, also of Highland Park.
FLIEGELMAN. Ariella Fliegelman of East Brunswick graduated from Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School, South River, on June 4, 2007. She received an excellence in science award and the Ahavat Yisroel Award. Future plans include college. Parents are Arnold and Marsha Fliegelman of East Brunswick. FRIDLANDER. Chana Esther Fridlander, nee Wildman, of Edison, graduated suma cum laude from Stern College for Women of Yeshiva University with a BA in Biology. She attended Michlelet Mevaseret Yerushalayim (MMY) in Israel for a year post-high school, prior to starting Stern College. Parents are Daniel and Zelda Wildman of Edison. GLICKSTEIN. Sarah Glickstein of Marlboro graduated from Marlboro High School on June 30, 2007. Sarah graduated from the twelfth grade Hebrew High School of Marlboro Jewish Center on May 23, 2007. She participated in the Panim el Panim Leadership Conference. Sarah is the president of Third Generation, which is an entirely student-run organization that works toward educating young adults about the history and lessons of the Holocaust. She received the Editor's Choice Award for outstanding achievement in poetry. Sarah was a member of the Student Council. She plans to attend the Lerner College of Business and Economics of the University of Delaware. Sarah is the daughter of Linda and Marvin Glickstein. HACKER. Stephanie Alexandra Hacker of Metuchen graduated Magna Cum Laude from Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Penn., on May 20, 2007, with a B.A. in Business and Art History. She was a Museum Studies Intern at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, President of Phi Sigma Sigma sorority, Member of the Order of Omega Greek Leadership Honor Society, Muhlenberg Female Greek Leader of the Year 2007, won the Franklin H. Claire Award for Excellence in Marketing, was a Peer Tutor, a Tour Guide, and a Campus Delegate. HARUSH. Yedidya Harush of Highland Park graduated from Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School, South River, on June 4, 2007. Yedidya received excellence in history-Talmud and science awards, and will study in Israel. Parents are Yosef and Ruth Harush of Israel.
HEYMAN. Gershon Heyman of Cherry Hill graduated from Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School, South River, on June 4, 2007. Gershon received awards for outstanding school services, excellence in Spanish, Hebrew language and history, and was part of the scholars program. Future plans include study at Netiv Aryeh. HOFFMAN. Deanna Hoffman, daughter of Beth and Marty Hoffman, is graduating from East Brunswick High School. She is the granddaughter of Rita and Marvin Aronowitz of Somerset, formerly of Clifton, and Charlotte Hoffman of Boca Raton, Fla. Deanna is a member of the National Honor Society. She is co-captain of the Varsity Golf team and Vice President of the Student Council. Deanna participated in the Dot.Com volunteer program at the Oscar and Ella Wilf Campus for Senior Living. Throughout high school, Deanna has been actively raising funds for "City of Hope," Middlesex County Chapter. In the fall, Deanna will attend Drexel University, where she will participate in their Honors Program. She is pursuing an accelerated Masters Degree to become a Physician's Assistant.
HOWARD. Joel Ari Howard of Highland Park graduated from I.L. Peretz Community Jewish School, a secular Sunday school in Somerset, on May 20, 2007. As part of his graduation requirements, Joel researched and conducted an oral presentation on the natural orientation toward religious belief entitled, "The Gorilla in the Living Room." KALIETA. Andrew Kalieta of Marlboro graduated from Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Monmouth County. He was a member of the Flames basketball team and plays basketball for Marlboro Rec. Andrew was part of the eighth grade CBA math competition, where the school took third place. He also won the National Physical Fitness Award. He will attend Marlboro High School. KARPOFF. Joshua Karpoff of Highland Park graduated cum laude from Brandeis University, Mass., on May 20, 2007. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and History with a minor in near-Eastern and Judaic studies. Joshua was a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the National History Honors Society, was a senator of the student union and an senator on the Executive Board, served as Gabbi and an executive member of Brandeis Hillel Orthodox Organization, was president of Jewish Fella Acapella, worked on The Justice, Brandeis's independent newspaper, and worked as an assistant producer for Brandeis Hillel Theatre Group. He also served as an intern for Sen. Robert Menendez in Washington, D.C., and was on Dean's List all semesters. Joshua served as scoutmaster for Troop 55, Highland Park. KASWIN. Lisa Kaswin graduated from John P. Stevens High School, Edison. She is the daughter of Nancy and Reuven Kaswin. Lisa was a National Merit Finalist. KATZ. Zach Katz of Highland Park graduated from Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School on June 4, 2007. He received awards for outstanding diligence and achievement. Future plans include attendance at Yeshiva Torat Shraga, Jerusalem, and the University of Maryland. Parents are Rosa and Barry Katz of Highland Park. KATZMAN. Arielle Lynn Katzman, daughter of Bernice and Steven Katzman of Marlboro, graduated summa cum laude from Brandeis University. A Justice Brandeis Scholar, Arielle graduated as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Psi Chi, the national honor society for psychology, of which she was secretary. She graduated with highest honors in politics and health: science society and policy, the disciplines in which she completed an honors thesis. Arielle also had an additional major in psychology, and minors in business and legal studies. At graduation, Arielle received the Esther Pine Memorial Prize for academic excellence, the Saul and Sarah Fechtor Family Prize in political science, and an award for excellence in business studies. While at Brandeis, Arielle served as an RA for three years and was a member of the Adagio Dance Company and Hooked on Tap (Brandeis Tap Ensemble). She served as president of the Prelaw Society, Ballet Club and Yoga Club. Next year, Arielle will attend the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, N.Y., as a Monrad Paulsen Scholar.
KAUFMAN. Alex S. Kaufman, son of Sherryl and Mickey Kaufman of East Brunswick, received a Juris Doctor degree with honors from Emory University School of Law, Atlanta, on May 14, 2007. Alex is a 2003 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, and a 1999 graduate of East Brunswick High School. While at Emory, Alex served as senior editor on the Emory International Law Review and was president of the Jewish Law Students Association. He was a coach for the undergraduate track team. LICHTBROUN. Michael Daniel Lichtbroun of East Brunswick graduated from the Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School on June 19, 2007. He is the son of Alan and Cindy Lichtbroun, and grandson of Rita and Stanley Marderstein of Boynton Beach, Fla. Michael received the school's psychology award, which goes to a student who demonstrated excellence in that field of study. His original research paper won first prize this spring at the Hudson Valley Psychology Conference co-sponsored by Dominican College and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He was the recipient of a Samberg Family History Fellowship at the Center for Jewish History, New York, during summer 2006. Michael has been a member of the junior PGA and has participated in golf tournaments. In addition, he was active in the high school basketball, softball, math, chess, and ping-pong teams. David Raphael Wildman of Edison graduated from both Yeshiva University with a BA in Pre-Engineering with honors and Columbia University's Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science with a BS in Electrical Engineering (magna cum laude). At Yeshiva University, David was President of the Israel Club, served as a School Senator, and was Opinions Editor of The Commentator, the YU student newspaper. He attended Yeshivat Gush Etzion in Israel for two years post-high school, prior to starting Yeshiva University. During his time at Columbia, David participated in a Hurricane Katrina relief mission. He is working at ANADIGICS Inc., Warren. Parents are Daniel and Zelda Wildman. Grandparents are Sala Grinblatt of Somerset and the late Max Grinblatt, and Ida Wildman, also of Somerset, and the late David Wildman.
WILLINGER. Chana Willinger of Edison graduated from Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School, South River, on June 4, 2007. She received an award for accomplishments in drama. Chana will attend Middlesex County College. Parents are Cheryl and Avi Willinger of Edison.
ZELKA. Sarah Zelka of East Brunswick graduated from Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School, South River, on June 4, 2007. She received an award for midot, and was debate team captain, Leket Shoshanim editor, a big sister for Torah Links, and a National Honor Society member. Sarah will attend Afikei Torah, Israel, then Touro College. Parents are Jeffrey and Amy Zelka of East Brunswick. Grandmother is Esther Zelka of Long Branch.
ZIGDON. Barak Zigdon of Highland Park graduated from Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School, South River, on June 4, 2007. He received awards for excellence in English, science, and Talmud. Future plans include yeshiva and college study in Israel. Parents are Efraim and Deborah Zigdon.
