"I teach job seekers how to get hired. This includes how to write a resume that is easy to read and at the same time showcases their accomplishments to get an interview. I also introduce job seekers to professional networks to make connections to get interviews. In addition, I help the job seeker identify and recognize the skills he or she will use to benefit an employer during the interview. I also help with follow up procedures for after the interview," said Barbara Kuppersmith. What makes your business special? "Me. I am reputable and passionate about what I do. My background is in sales and executive recruiting for a search firm with whom I had a high rate of placement for my candidates. I work individually with each person to help them find a new career opportunity. Job seekers learn how to sell themselves by writing effective resumes. During an interview, one of my clients was told by the hiring manager his resume was one of the best from candidates for the position." What goals do you have for the business? "My goal is to have BRK Solutions Group grow and offer a variety of services including recruiting for large corporations and working with them on employee retention." How has your business changed? "My original plan was to work exclusively with consumer product companies to place candidates in sales and analytic positions. Now my business includes coaching individual job seekers." What was your most important deal? "Starting my own business and bringing my skills directly to the marketplace." What changes do you expect in your business in the next 10 years? "I see BRK Solutions Group being a change agent in the recruiting and coaching industry. As the job market and economy improve, job seekers will shift from those unemployed to job seekers who are employed and looking for their next career move." What is the most important thing you've learned in your business? "How to market BRK Solutions through networking, free classes, and volunteering." What advice would you give to someone considering your line of work? "You must be passionate about this work and build a positive reputation of accomplishment."
