GORDON. Mrs. Celia Blake Gordon died Dec. 25, 2009. She was 87.

Born and raised in Newark, Mrs. Gordon lived in Irvington and Union. She had been a secretary for North American Accident And Health Insurance in Newark for 14 years, retiring in 1958. She was a former member of Congregation AABC located in Irvington and B'nai B'rith of Union. Her husband, Irving, died in 2007.

Mrs. Gordon is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Robin and David Koerner of Scotch Plains; and granddaughters, Elise and Melissa. Arrangements by Menorah Chapels, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Osteoporosis Foundation.

HUBER. Mr. Herman Huber died Dec. 30, 2009, at Renaissance Gardens, Tinton Falls. He was 91.

Born in Long Branch, Mr. Huber lived in Little Silver for 53 years before moving to Tinton Falls five years ago. He was a lifetime member of Congregation B'nai Israel, Rumson. He graduated from Long Branch High School in 1937 and attended North Carolina State University. He was a World War II Army veteran and served in the National Guard for 25 years. He was a retailer with Roots in Red Bank for 20 years before retiring in 1990. He was active in the Red Bank area. He was past president of Rotary Club, Red Bank Chamber of Commerce, and Root Beer & Checkers Club.

Mr. Huber is survived by his wife, Beatrice; daughters and sons-in-law, Constance and John Van Kirk of Colts Neck, and Leslie and Mark Purslow of Ocean; grandchildren, Joshua A. Van Kirk, Rebecca Gruber, Lindsay Eraso, Samantha Sintros, and Maggie Purslow; and great-grandchildren, Gavin, Tierney, and Grayden Gruber and Carver Van Kirk. Interment at Congregation B'nai Israel Cemetery, Tinton Falls. Arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean.

KOHANE. Mr. David Kohane died Jan. 1, 2010 in Falmouth, Mass. He was 89.

Born in Nisko, Poland, March 26, 1920, David was a survivor of the Holocaust. After World War II, he lived in Israel for 10 years where he served in the Israel Defense Forces. Upon immigrating to the United States in 1959, he lived in New York City and then settled in Hunterdon County where he owned a poultry farm and developed the Flemington Travel Inn. His wife, Chana Malka (née Burstyn), died in 1986.

Mr. Kohane is survived by his daughters, Zipora Urbach of Falmouth, Sara Reifler of Hamden, Conn., and Debbi Levine of Oakton, Va.; sister, Lola Borg of Brooklyn; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews in the United States and Israel. Interment at Flemington Jewish Community Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington. Arrangements by Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, Flemington. LUCHANSKY. Mrs. Miriam Luchansky died Dec. 19, 2009. She was 78.

Born in Long Branch, Miriam found great comfort and joy in her spiritual life and was an active member of Congregation Ahavat Olam, formerly Ahavat Shalom, Lakewood, for 50 years. She was a member of the Sisterhood, Ort and Hadassah and was the chairman of the board of education of the religious school. In her retirement at Leisure Village West, she hosted an annual Sukkot celebration greatly anticipated by friends and neighbors. She graduated with honors from Long Branch High School and attended Monmouth University. She was employed by Lakewood Head Start as the financial administrator for more than 25 years.

Born and raised by the Jersey Shore, Miriam had a lifelong affinity for the ocean and a love of nature. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Joe, especially to the national parks. They wintered for many years in West Palm Beach, Fla. Miriam was an excellent mah jongg player. She enjoyed the game with the same mah jongg group for more than 50 years. Always smiling, she maintained an extensive network of family and friends, who were of paramount importance to her. She was a trusted friend and confidant, and could also strike up a friendly conversation with any stranger she met. She was known and loved by many and will be deeply missed. She was predeceased by her parents, David and Fannie Silver.

Mrs. Luchansky is survived by her husband of 54 years, Joseph; siblings and their spouses, Louis Silver, Robert and Mickey Silver, and Shirley Silver Resnic; daughters and sons-in-law, Felise Luchansky and Jeff Barnes of Wilmington, Del., Debra Luchansky Weiner and Barry Weiner, MD of Manalapan; and grandsons, Daniel Barnes, Rob Weiner and Alex Weiner. NISONOFF. Mr. Albert Nisonoff died peacefully Jan. 1, 2010, at Monroe Village. He was 92.

Born in Old Bridge, Albert was raised in Jamesburg before moving to New Brunswick in 1963. He graduated from New York University with a BS in accounting after which he opened his accounting practice in South River and East Brunswick 60 years ago. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II with a rank of 1st lieutenant, serving as an auditing officer, was a member and past president of the Jamesburg Lions Club and a 60 year member of the South River Lions Club. He was a member of the New Jersey Association of Public Accountants, National Association of Public Accountants, and a sponsoring employer of the South River High School Co-op Education Department. He was the owner of Nisonoff and Quadrel Public Accountants in East Brunswick for many years and was a member of Temple Anshe Emeth in New Brunswick for more than 50 years.

Mr. Nisonoff is survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Mary Troiani; daughters, Elaine Nisonoff and her partner Milton Eidelman of Jackson, and Faye Ruopp and her husband Charles of Newton, Mass.; grandson, Marcus Ruopp of Worcester, Mass.; and brother, Irving Nisonoff of Del Ray Beach, Fla. Interment at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Arrangements by Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River.

RUDD. Mrs. Sherilyn J. Rudd died Jan. 1, 2010, at Pope John Paul II Rehab Pavilion, Orange. She was 60.

Born in Jersey City, Sherilyn lived in East Brunswick for many years before moving to Monroe two years ago. She was a former schoolteacher in the West New York school system.

Mrs. Rudd is survived by her son, David, and his fiancée, Stacy Weissman of Chicago; parents, Lawrence Rosenberg and Beatrice Fox Rosenberg of Monroe; brother, Dr. Gary Rosenberg of Woodbury, N.Y.; nephews, Andrew and Evan Rosenberg; and niece, Amy Rosenberg. Interment at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Fairview. Arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

TESSER. Mr. Jack Tesser died Dec. 31, 2009, at Laurelton Village Care Center. He was 88.

Born in Brooklyn, Jack lived in Manalapan and West End (Long Branch), before settling in Brick three years ago. He was a rug salesman for Bloomingdale in New York City before retiring 23 years ago. Her served in the Army during World War II in Italy and the North African theater, and he attained the rank of 1st lieutenant. He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans in Manalapan, and the D.A.V. Chapter 20 in Brick. His son, Clifford Charles, died in 1977.

Mr. Tesser is survived by his beloved wife of more than 60 years, Dorothy; daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Michael Karasic of Brick, and Barbara and Henry Campbell of Florida; and many friends. Interment at Wellwood Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y. Arrangements by Belkoff-Goldstein Funeral Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. ZACK. Mr. Julius Zack died Dec. 28, 2009, in Morristown Memorial Hospital. He was 85.

Born in New Brunswick, Mr. Zack lived in Perth Amboy before moving to Westfield more than 55 years ago. He served in the Army during World War II. He was the co-owner of Zack Painting Company of Fords. Previously, he was an attorney with Hess Oil Company. He was an active member of Temple Emanu-El, Westfield. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a trusted friend, confidante, and advisor to many, a true mensch whose sense of humor lit up our world.

Mr. Zack is survived by his wife, Elaine; children, Barbara, Deborah, Neil, James and Zack; grandchildren, Jessica, Carl, Emma, Rachel, Joshua and Mia; and siblings, Alvin Zack and Pearl Turtletaub. Interment at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
