CHAZIN. Mr. Meyer Chazin, died June 25, 2007, at the Central New Jersey Jewish Home for the Aged in Somerset where he lived since 2002. He was 94.
Born in Minneapolis, Minn., Mr. Chazin lived in New Jersey for virtually all of his life, residing in Perth Amboy--
where his father was the cantor of Sharei Tefelia Synagogue for more than 50 years--Jersey City, Verona and Rossmoor.
He graduated from City College in New York City and received his law degree from Rutgers University.
He was a certified public accountant and an attorney. Before retiring in 1998, at the age of 86, he worked for
more than 56 years as an appeals officer with the Internal Revenue Service in Newark. He was an active supporter
of many Jewish charities and educational causes and was honored for his efforts by the State of Israel Bonds
organization in 2000. At the time of his death he was a member of Beth El Synagogue in East Windsor, and
Congregation Beth Ahm in Verona. He and his wife, Charlotte, were co-founders of a synagogue in North Port, Fla.,
where they maintained a winter home until Charlotte passed away in 1995. Mr. Chazin is survived by his son and
daughter-in-law, Mark and Marsha of Bridgewater; grandchildren, Marty and his wife, Stacey, of Voorhees,
Rachel Halperin and her husband, Jason of White Plains, and Neal and his fiancee, Dafna Mor of Philadelphia; and
great-grandsons, Josh, Adam, and Jack. Interment at Riverside Cemetery, Saddle Brook. Arrangements by Bruce C.

COHEN. Mrs. Anne Rita Finberg Cohen of Monroe died June 27, 2007, at home. She was 80.
Born in Newark, Mrs. Cohen resided in Iselin before moving to Monroe 12 years ago. She was a dietitian at Irvington
General Hospital, Irvington, where she worked for 23 years before retiring 18 years ago. She received an associate's
degree in dietetics from the Pratt Institute and was a member of the Ruth Estrin Goldberg Cancer Memorial Group and
the Brandeis Clearbrook Chapter. She was an avid Mah Jongg player. Above all, she loved her family. To her family,
she was bigger than life, a fervent Yankee fan, full of humor, generosity and boundless love. Mrs. Cohen is survived
by her husband of 58 years, Abraham J.; daughters and sons-in-law, Roberta and Murray Adams of Monmouth Junction
and Janice and Paul Lipton of Langhorne, Pa.; and grandchildren, Alex Michael Lipton and Carly Ellen Adams.

DICKERMAN. Mrs. Bernice D. Tamor Dickerman died July 1, 2007, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was 85.
Born in Manhattan, Mrs. Dickerman lived in East Brunswick before moving to Monroe 21 years ago. She received her
bachelor's degree from Hunter College and her master's degree from New York University. Before retiring in 1986,
she was a school librarian for Warnsdorfer Elementary School, East Brunswick, for 25 years. Mrs. Dickerman is survived
by her husband of 61 years, William; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Larry Loomis of Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.,
and Elizabeth Dickerman and Richard Arons of Princeton Junction; and grandchildren, Stacey Howard, Dana Lewisohn,

GOLDEN. Mrs. Dorie M. Golden died from lung cancer June 6, 2007, at Princeton University Medical Center. She was 75.
Following the suburban migration form Brooklyn to Manhattan to Oceanside, before retiring in Monroe, Mrs. Golden
became a passionate protector of the 50 trees in her Long Island neighborhood threatened with road widening. She
left New York University's pre-med course in the 1950s when Madison Avenue beckoned with a lucrative job.
Her good looks and creative mind allowed her to work on the Borden's account, and be featured with its iconic brand
logo, Elsie the Cow, in some of the resulting advertising. Other proud moments include her role as Scout Den mother,
a member of the board of education for Central Hebrew High School, Oceanside, a pioneer in offering microwave cooking
classes to the public, a professional tax preparer, and an award-winning customer service representative for Chase
Manhattan Bank. Mrs. Golden is survived by her husband, Carl; sons, Drew University Professor Jonathan and his
fiancee, Priscilla Sanches Salles and Rabbi Steve and his wife, Shira, of Teaneck; and grandchildren, Navah

KLINE. Mr. Abraham C. Kline died peacefully June 29, 2007, at his home in Edison. He was 100.
Born in Boston, Mass., Mr. Kline attended Northeastern University School of Law. He practiced for 50 years in Lynn,
Mass. He was a member of Temple Neve Shalom, Metuchen, and of the JCC of Middlesex County. He was known for his
wonderful sense of humor and original oil paintings, as well as his lifelong devotion to the Boston Red Sox,
which put his name in lights to congratulate him on his 100th birthday. On June 10, Mr. Kline celebrated his
100th birthday at a party that was attended by numerous friends and relatives who traveled from all parts of the
country. He will be remembered and missed by everyone who knew him. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years,
Esther. Mr. Kline is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and William Rabb; granddaughters,
Melissa Maisel and her husband, Richard, and Laura Cohen and her husband, Noah; brother, Leon Kline; and six

WAGER. Mr. Matthew L. Wager died June 24, 2007. He was 48.
Born in Queens, N.Y., Mr. Wager lived in Edison before moving to North Brunswick 19 years ago. He was a
self-employed business consultant, and a member of Temple B'Nai Shalom, East Brunswick. Mr. Wager is survived by his
wife of 22 years, Carol Weinrib Wager; daughters, Danielle and Stephanie; parents, Stanley and Blanche Wager of Elmont,
N.Y.; brother, Marc of New Rochelle, N.Y.; and sister, Michelle Shoenfeld of Baldwin, N.Y. Interment at Floral

SHAPIRO. Mrs. Sylvia Shapiro of Red Bank, formerly of Elizabeth, died June 30, 2007, at the Jersey Shore Nursing Home in Eatontown. She was 87.
Born in New York, Mrs. Shapiro lived most of her life in Elizabeth before moving to Red Bank 22 years ago. She
co-owned the Tenth Avenue Arcade in Belmar, and was a former member of the Elmora Hebrew Center in Elizabeth.
Her husband of 35 years, Mendel, died in 1977. Mrs. Shapiro is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Philip of
Atlanta, Ga., and Donald and Nancy of Cranford; daughter, Vivian of Long Branch; grandchildren, Meg, Jesse and
Gregory; and nieces, Helen Josef of Arizona and Ann Koenig of Staten Island, N.Y. Interment at Beth Israel Cemetery,

STALLON. Mr. Howard Stallon of Marlboro died June 29, 2007, at home. He was 53.
Born in the Bronx, Mr. Stallon lived in Marlboro for 16 years. He was a member of the Marlboro Jewish Center.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Robin Condiotti Stallon; son, Brett; and sister, Cheryl Goldstein of Weston,

TARSHIS. Mr. Bernard Tarshis died June 29, 2007, at home. He was 86.
Born in Brooklyn, Mr. Tarshis lived in Demarest before moving to Monroe 20 years ago. Before retiring in 1997,
he was a certified public accountant for more than 50 years. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and
belonged to the Jewish War Veterans and B'nai B'rith of Clearbrook. Mr. Tarshis is survived by his wife of 63 years,
Rita Birnbaum Tarshis; sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Michele of Rocky River, Ohio, and Joseph and Susan of
Newton, Conn.; daughter, Deborah of Colorado; brother, Sol, of Brooklyn; grandchildren, Heather, Melanie, Katie,
Nikki, Liz and Ariel; and great-grandchildren, Christopher, Nathan, Noah and Caitlyn. Interment at New Montefiore

WILLNER. Mrs. Mildred (Samson) Willner of Monroe died June 21, 2007, at Odyssey Hospice, Monroe. She was 80.
Born in Newark, Mrs. Willner lived in Brooklyn and Highland Park before moving to Monroe. She graduated in 1944 from
Eastern District High School in Brooklyn. She worked in New York City as a stenographer and later was employed by
Middlesex County Courthouse as principal clerk. She was a member of both Deborah and Hadassah. Mrs. Willner is
survived by her devoted and beloved husband of 55 years, Jay W.; daughter, Jeri-Ellen Willner of Medford, Mass.; son,
Laurence Ross Willner of Highland Park; daughter and son-in-law, Janice Paige and Anthony Ligouri of East Brunswick;
grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor Ligouri and Danielle Jade Ligouri; and siblings, Pauline Parr and Albert Samson, both
