(Photos above) On Monday, June 4, at the Nicholas Music Center of the Mason Gross School for the Arts at Rutgers University, Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School discharged its 10th graduating class.
This commencement marks several exciting distinctions for the school. In addition to the celebration of the 10th class by itself, the class of 2007 is the school's largest yet, graduating 58 seniors. The graduates include five Edward J. Blaustein Scholars and 16 members of the National Honor Society. The class generated more than $500,000 in academic scholarship for their higher education and almost 90 percent will be continuing their religious education in Israel prior to attending colleges and universities in the following fall.
In addition to the academic successes of the graduating class, the school's sports teams enjoyed unprecedented success, winning the boys varsity basketball yeshiva league championship. The varsity boys' soccer is currently in the play offs to win the league championship. The school's debate team enjoyed several important successes as did the participants in the college bowl. Additionally the school has embarked on an exciting refurbishment campaign to renovate the building. To date, five classrooms have been renovated - or are slated to be renovated - in the near future.

On the evening of June 6 at Congregation Neve Shalom, Metuchen, the Tzofim Friendship Caravan, a group of highly talented Israeli teenage boys and girls performed before an audience of more than 400 people. Their mission is to bring Israeli culture and spirit to North America through their energetic  performances, and so they did. The show was wonderful.  The teenagers engaged the audience in song and dance which delighted everyone there. They were received with tremendous enthusiasm for their fun filled and energetic performance.  The show was followed by a reception for sponsors of the event, which gave them an opportunity to meet and greet the teenagers personally.  It was said by many that it was very gratifying to see Israel's future in these dedicated young people. This group of ten teenagers (The Tzofim Friendship Caravan), sponsored by the Friends of Israel Scouts, Inc. is part of a larger delegation of Israel Scouts who, this summer will represent Israel at camps and communities across North America. There are three separate groups touring the United States this summer.  A delegation will tour several states on the East Coast, another delegation will tour the Midwest and still another will tour the West Coast. The program was jointly sponsored by Hadassah and Hadassah Associates of Raritan Valley, Colonia and Metuchen/Edison Gesher.
