THE JEWISH STATENovember 20, 2009 GREENSTEIN. Mr. George Greenstein died Oct. 27, 2009, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 93. Born in Bayonne to Sadie and Henry, Mr. Greenstein started his career at Maidenform in Bayonne, and moved on to become a co-owner of Lilyette. He was predeceased by his former wife, Sylvia (née Sager), and his daughter, Nancy Levin. Mr. Greenstein is survived by his wife, Sheila (née Grotsky); sons, Marty and Stuart; and grandchildren, Bruce, Sylvia, Anna, Lea, Grace, and Ely. Mr. Aaron Hirsh died peacefully with his children at his side Nov. 11, 2009, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was 75. Born and raised for a short time in South River, Aaron lived the past 50 years in Highland Park. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He was an active member with the Jewish War Veterans in Edison for many years, and was a very active member of the Edison Elks Lodge. He had a lifelong love of big band music and was an avid collector and reader. For more than 30 years he worked for the Ford Motor Company in Edison as an inventory control manager. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Sarah (née David), and his beloved wife, Myrna (née Chaskes) in 2004. Aaron is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Laurie; daughters, Gail Campbell and Debra Hirsh; grandchildren, Michael and David Campbell, and Ben, Jason, and Sari Hirsh; and brother and sister, Mark Hirsh and Estelle Rubenstein. Interment at Shalom Cemetery, New Brunswick. Arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association. KRIEGER. Mrs. Lois L. Krieger died Nov. 13, 2009, at home. She was 57. A graduate of East Brunswick High School, Ms. Krieger attended Brandeis University and graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse Law School. She was a senior attorney of the Community Health Law Project, South Orange. An accomplished marathon runner, she was an Iron Man triathlete. Ms. Krieger is survived by her parents, Estelle and Sidney of East Brunswick; sister, Karen of Spring, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Lawrence and Jeannette of Manlius, N.Y.; niece, Katie; and many cherished friends. Born in New York, Muriel lived in Edgewater before moving to Bridgewater more than 12 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Hadassah in Edgewater. She was active in theatre and music and produced many cultural events at Arbor Glen in Bridgewater. She also enjoyed golf, tennis, and playing bridge. She will be sadly missed. Her husband, Morton, died in 1985. She was also predeceased by her companion of many years, Felix Bremy, with whom she was very active with the Humanist Fellowship. Muriel is survived by her daughters, Ronnie C. Lesser, Ph.D. and her life partner Erica Schoenberg, and Marcia Carpenter-Lesser and her husband Edward; and grandson, Reese Carpenter. Mr. Norman "Red" Margolin died Nov. 10, 2009, at Holiday Care Center, Toms River. He was 90. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Norman served in the Army during World War II from 1941 to 1945, retiring as a staff sergeant. After his service, he settled in Toms River, where he ran his own poultry farm. He was an active member of the Novins Weisberg JWV Post #569, and a longtime member of Congregation B'nai Israel, Toms River, and its Men's Club. Norman is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Ann (née Feldman); son and daughter-in-law, David S. and Lisa of Toms River; daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha and Gary Schulze of Waretown, and Susan and Robert Checchi of New Egypt; grandchildren, Heather and Jennifer Schulze; and step-grandchildren, Paula and Andrew Checchi. Mrs. Helen Hull Yood died Nov. 10, 2009 at home, surrounded by her loving family and her devoted caregivers. She was 91. Born in Highland, Va., Mrs. Yood lived in Plainfield for most of her life. She graduated from the Staunton, Va., public school system, Mary Baldwin College and from the University of Virginia Nursing School with her RN. She worked as the head nurse for Medical Services, University of Virginia from 1941 to 1943 and as a delivery room nurse at Memorial Hospital in Syracuse University in 1943. After that, she became a full-time mother. She was a member and president of Cedar Twig at Muhlenberg Hospital, a life auxiliary member of Muhlenberg Hospital, the president of the Women's Division of the Jewish Community in Plainfield and a member of the board of directors of the Plainfield Jewish Community Center. She was also active in PTAs in Washington, Clinton, Evergreen and Cedarbrook Schools. Mrs. Yood was an avid and competitive bridge player who played in many tournaments over the years. She continued to play Rubber Bridge well into her '80s and also played mah-jong. She was an accomplished traveler, who went to many exotic destinations, including the Taj Mahal, the Galapagos Islands, Mexico, Istanbul, Copenhagen, and Venice. Her favorite was Hawaii, which she had been to six times. She is survived by her husband, with whom they just celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary, Harold S. Yood; her children, Pamela Anne Yood of Arlington, Va., Patricia Yood Herskovitz and her husband, Robert of Roanoke, Va., Paula Yood Peterson and her husband, Ronald of Watchung, and Andrew Hull Yood, M.D. and his wife Ruth of New York City; her grandchildren, Jill Anne Patterson and her husband, Andrew, Reid Alan Herskovitz and his wife, Amber, and Kyle Bryce Peterson. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Casey Howard Patterson, Sydney Netta Patterson, Madilyn Dawn Herskovitz, Logan Parks Herskovitz, and Jake Ryan Peterson. Interment at Mt.
