In support of Israel

I hope the United States will always be an ally to Israel. Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East. The Israelis have a right to defend themselves from Hamas and Hezbollah, and from Iran's nuclear plans.

Even though I'm a Christian woman, I believe I had a remote Jewish ancestor 10 generations ago. During the first seven years of the 21st century, I'd often be verbally mocked by bullies on the street who used a one-drop-rule definition of Jewishness, and thank God it's been a couple years since I've encountered this bullying.

My drop of Jewish blood gives me a genetic link to Jesus, Queen Esther, Samson, King David, and other Bible heroes. My Christian faith, combined with adulthood discovery of distant Jewish ancestry, enables me to identify with Israel as the birthplace of heroes in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible.
