She was a bookkeeper, working from her home while raising her children, and later at a company in Brooklyn, NY. She was the daughter of the late Becky and Edward Beller, wife of the late Felix Barondess and sister of the late Solomon Beller. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Karen Greenstein of Guilford, CT and Janis Barondess Todd and Alan Todd of Princeton Junction; four grandchildren, Leah Tood, Joanna Todd, Adam Greenstein and his wife Helene and Jennifer and her husband Jeffrey Grosman; four great-grandchildren, Ethan and Alyssa Greenstein and Hannah and Max Grosman; and many special nieces and nephews. Mr. Bitterman was a Democratic committeeman and served on the Board of Elections and Registry in South Brunswick. He was a member of the board of the Jewish Family and Vocational Services in Middlesex County, a life member of the Jewish Chautauqua Society, founding member and first president of Temple Emanu-El in Edison and a member of Temple Bnai Tikvah in North Brunswick, Congregation Shaarey Tefiloh in Perth Amboy and the Princeton Walk Civic Association. He received the United Jewish Appeal Meritorious Award and the Leadership Award from the Chautauqua Society. Mr. Bitterman was a disabled American veteran, having served in the Army Air Force as a second lieutenant during World War II. He was predeceased by his first wife, Adelaide Levine Bitterman, in 1984, and his second wife, Marie Barber Bitterman, in 1994, and a sister, Sylvia Lensky. Pearl Hantman Bussell Services on Friday, 86 Pearl Hantman Bussell (nee Doris), who was born on Oct. 26, 1920, to Rose and Joseph Doris, passed away on Oct. 9, 2007, at St. Peters Medical Center, New Brunswick. She was a practicing newsletter writer and artist, who loved to draw, at the Regency Nursing Home, where she resided. She was known as queen of the clowns because of the many clowns that she drew. Prior to being a resident, she was a volunteer at the Regency Nursing Home and loved calling bingo every Monday afternoon for over 10 years, for which she received a Star Award. She was predeceased by her first husband, Lawrence Hantman, in 1972; her second husband, Irwin Bussell, in 2006, and her brother, Harold Doris. He was a 1971 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, where he was captain of the mens varsity tennis team. He was a bingo volunteer at Congregation Adath Israel in Woodbridge for 20 years and a former member of the Colonia Country Club, where he served on many committees and was vice president in 2005. He was currently a member of the Plainfield Country Club. He ran and finished the New York Marathon in 2004 and 2006. Mr. Fox was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. His mother, Shirley Fox, died in June of 2006. Cantor Mordecai Goldstein died Sept. 26, 2007, at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel, where he lived. Cantor Goldstein served as cantor of Neve Shalom congregation in Metuchen for 25 years before retiring to Jerusalem, Israel. After graduating from the University of Denver, he attended the Jewish Theological Seminary where he graduated with a Master of Arts in Sacred Music and a diploma in Hazzanut. During his 25 active years at Neve Shalom, he was a member of the New Jersey Cantors' Concert Ensemble, which performs throughout the state. He was an active member of the Cantors Assembly, and specifically, the New Jersey Region of the Assembly. He was responsible for instituting Neve Shalom's renowned and widely imitated Torah Readers Program. He retired at the end of June, 1999, in order to join his wife, Barbara, in Israel, where she has been serving as an executive of Hadassah. In addition to his immense talent, he is fondly remembered by his colleagues for his warm and engaging personality. Cantor Goldstein is survived by his wife, Barbara of Jerusalem; children, Devra Bender, Danny Goldstein and Barbara Spack; and five grandchildren.GREENFIELD. He was politically active as a representative in the Union County Medical Society and was the founder, and for 25 years the director, of the Union County Tuberculosis League. Dr. Minzter was past president of the New Jersey chapter of the American College of Chest Physicians; a former attending physician at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University, and a former member of the board of trustees of Temple Emanu-El in Westfield. Dr. Minzter was a Phi Beta Kappa cum laude graduate of Princeton University in 1946 at the age of 19 and earned a medical degree in 1950 from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He became an Osler Intern at Johns Hopkins and followed that with residencies in chest diseases at YaleNew Haven and Bellevue/NYU hospitals in New York City. Dr. Minzter served in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and completed his service as a captain.
