BLUMAN. Mrs. Sandra Beverly (nee Fradkin) Bluman died Sept. 3, 2009, after a long illness. She was 78. Born in Brooklyn, Mrs. Bluman then lived in Manalapan, Whiting, and most recently in Morristown. She was a retired bank teller and beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Bluman is survived by her loving husband, Herbert; sons and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey, Steven and Marion, and Wayne; daughter and son-in-law Lori and Robert McGill; and grandchildren, Jason, Daniel, Angela and Regina. Interment at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Arrangements by Freeman Funeral Home, Manalapan. CUKOR. Mr. George Cukor died Sept. 4, 2009, at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, Manhattan. He was 63. Born in Budapest, Hungary, Mr. Cukor lived in East Brunswick before moving to Monroe. He also maintained a residence in Boynton Beach, Fla. Before retiring, he was a microbiologist for Hoffman LaRoche, Branchburg, for 40 years. He was a member of Congregation Toras Emes, East Windsor. Mr. Cukor is survived by his wife, Adrienne Schwartz Cukor; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Christine of Morristown, and Daniel and Judith of Teaneck; and grandchildren, Joseph Andor, Nathan, Stephen Janos, Ellie, Samson Tobias, and Hannah. Mrs. Gertrude (nee Bleiberg) Friedman died Sept. 5, 2009, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. She was 96. Born in Poland, Mrs. Friedman, her sister, and her mother immigrated to the United States to join her father when she was 15. She worked in the fashion industry, hand painting buttons and other ornaments while finishing high school. She lived in Rossmoor, Monroe, for more than 30 years before moving to the Martin and Edith Stein Assisted Living Residence, Somerset. Her husband, Jacob C., died in 1998. Mrs. Friedman is survived by her daughter, Annette Edelson; son-in-law, Arthur Edelson; sister, Lillian Zwilling; grandchildren, Laura Skojec and Stephen Edelson; great-granddaughter, Abigail Skojec; two nephews; and three nieces. Interment at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. GREENBERG. Mrs. Marcia S. Greenberg died Sept. 5, 2009, at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. She was 92. Born in Mamaroneck, N.Y., Mrs. Greenberg lived in Red Bank since 1946. She was a current member of the Two River Community Bank advisory board, a member of B'nai Israel Sisterhood and a founding member of the Red Bank Chapter of Deborah. Mrs. Greenberg is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jesse J. Greenberg DDS; daughters, Frances Greenberg Statter, Grace Ann Greenberg, and Susan Greenberg Uram; sons-in-law, William Statter and Martin Uram; grandchildren, Harry A. Statter and his wife Jenny, Richard E. Statter and his wife Allison, Catie S. Uram, Rachel A. Greenberg, and Jesse S. Uram; and great grandchildren, JT and Annie Statter. HEISER. Mrs. Hannah Heiser (nee Savlick) died, Aug. 27, 2009 at Valley Hospital, Ridgewood. She was 88. Born in the Bronx, Mrs. Heisler lived in Old Bridge since 1959, and moved to Manchester in 1985. She was a customer service representative for Sears, Roebuck and Co., New Brunswick, for 15 years. Previously, she was a bookkeeper for several businesses. She retired in 1986. She was a member of the Sisterhood of Congregation Beth Ohr in Old Bridge, a corresponding secretary for Hadassah, a volunteer at the Thrift Shop for the Kimball Medical Center Auxiliary, and was involved in various organizations within Leisure Village West in Manchester. She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin. Mrs. Heisler is survived by her daughters, Audrey Philpot and Barbara Heisler Williams; son, Lawrence; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Matilda "Marty" Jacobs died Aug. 31, 2009, at the Central Jersey Jewish Home in Somerset. Born in Brooklyn, Mrs. Jacobs lived in North Plainfield before moving to Deerfield Beach, Fla. Prior to moving to Florida in 1980, she worked alongside her husband in their businesses in Highland Park and Metuchen. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and a devoted friend to many, who had a smile and a kind word for everyone she knew. She was predeceased by her husband, Herman; daughter, Marlene Jacobs Beckenstein in 1980; and brother, Isaac Rudin. Mrs. Jacobs is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Adrienne and Roger Graubard of North Plainfield; son-in-law, Dr. Alan Beckenstein of Charlottesville, Va.; grandchildren, Douglas Graubard, Amy Six and her husband, Scott, Wendy Pilch and her husband, Joseph, and Stacey Bruns and her husband, David; and five great-grandchildren. Interment at Beth Israel Cemetary, Woodbridge. NEEDLE. Ms. Erika Megin Needle died suddenly Sept. 5, 2009, by an unfortunate accident. She was 18. Born on Aug. 6, 1991, in Manhattan, Erika was a recent graduate of Liberty High School in Jackson, and was to begin her freshman year at Ocean County College this semester. Her stature was petite but her spirit was enormous. Her perseverance and determination through adversity brought her to her great achievements. She was passionate about music, singing and dancing. She was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. Her energy will forever shine brightly in our hearts. Erika is survived by her loving parents, Rona and Jesse; paternal grandparents, Jack and Barbara Needle of Red Bank; and maternal grandparents, Wilbert Lissak of Fair Lawn and Leatrice Katz of Boynton Beach, Fla. OPPENHEIMER. Mr. Fred Oppenheimer died Aug. 30, 2009, after a brief illness. He was 86. Born and raised in Germany, Fred came to the United States and settled on the family farm in South Brunswick. He was a chicken and egg farmer by trade with the family business in South Brunswick. In his later years, he became an inspector for the state of New Jersey. He was a member of Community Without Walls, the 50+ Club of Congregation B'nai Tikvah, North Brunswick. He loved to read all the newspapers, in particular the Business section of the New York Times, in order to keep up with the business world. Being a farmer at heart, he also enjoyed gardening. He was predeceased by his dear sister, Berti Siegel. Mr. Oppenheimer is survived by his beloved companion of more than 20 years, Mildred R. Auerbach, and her children, Carol and her husband Larry Zatkow, and Jess Auerbach and his wife Jill; his dear niece, Janet and her husband Anthony Campisano; his grand-nieces, Katie and Emily; and his grandchildren, Jacob and Samuel Zatkow. Mrs. Maxine (nee Kleiman) Weinstein died Sept. 3, 2009, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 64. Born in Tullahoma, Tenn., Mrs. Weinstein grew up in Linden and lived in Edison for 38 years before moving to Sterling Pointe in Somerset in 2007. She was a school nurse in Elizabeth and most recently at the Martin Luther King School in Edison, retiring after 25 years. She received a B.S. degree from Trenton State College. She was a member of the Shackamaxon Country Club for 32 years and a longtime member of Congregation Neve Shalom in Metuchen. Mrs. Weinstein is survived by her husband, Edward; son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Dawn; daughter, Lori; brother, Steven Kleiman and his wife, Carol; nephew, Gregory and his wife, Jennifer; and niece, Cheri.
